The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Ottawa chapter celebrated success at the sixth annual Design Excellence Awards Gala at the National Arts Centre on April 23.
There were more than 40 trophies, in 22 categories.
Astro Design Centre and Laurysen Kitchens each received several awards. Wael Bakr (Laurysen) received the popular-vote People’s Choice award in both bathroom and kitchen categories.
“It was quite a surprise,” Bakr was quoted as saying in the Ottawa Citizen. “I keep on telling my wife, ‘Pinch me. Did it actually happen?'”
