Breathtaking renovation: $100,001 category
Award winners RND Construction impressed the judges in three categories. One, simply called “Balmoral Reno”, modernized the client’s kitchen, breakfast area, and family room.
The renovation started with refinishing the floors, adding a fresh coat of paint, and upgrading the lighting which brightened up the entire space. To gain maximum storage, the upper cabinets were replaced with full-height cabinets and open shelves were added below. A pantry and multiple pot drawers were also incorporated into the design. Luxurious finishes include a quartz countertop and marble backsplashes. Hints of brass stand out including the faucet, pot filler, light fixtures, and cabinet knobs and pulls. The large kitchen island, with space for at least five people, is the central focus of the space and forms a hub for family living. The expansive windows were retained in the kitchen that showcases the impressive view of the backyard.
The family room’s fireplace was replaced with a modern unit and the enclosure was clad with large porcelain tiles. The homeowners needed a place for their large tv which fit perfectly above the fireplace. Both sides of the fireplace were furnished with elegant built-in walnut shelving with enclosed storage at the bottom.
